Location: Fort Campbell, KY
Client: US Army Engineering and Support Center (USAESC), Huntsville, AL
Design/Build of a medium sized child development center with a capacity for 232 children ages 6 months-5 years. The facility is 23,000 square feet with a full commercial kitchen, safe room (reinforced storm shelter), academic and activity rooms for infant/pre-toddler, pre-school/kindergarten, outreach/transitional care, laundry and all necessary restrooms and staff-required spaces.
- Design: Comprehensive design for the building and site layout including aspects such as architectural features, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and telecommunications. The design also encompassed a complete strategy to reach the LEED 2.2 Silver Certifiable requirements.
- Civil: Comprehensive design including grading, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site utilities such as domestic and fire water.
- Construction: Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, site work, roofing, masonry, fire systems and light gauge metal framing.
This work was awarded competitively under a $147 million CDC MATOC contract. It is one of 6 CDC design/build projects our team has constructed.
