Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Birmingham, AL
Reports to: Director of Construction / Fuels
FLSA Status: Exempt
Bhate Environmental Associates has an opportunity available for an Assistant Project Manager in our Birmingham, AL office is very accessible and provides a casual small office environment within an employee-oriented company.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for quality control management, including submittal management and coordinating to the Quality Control Manager to confirm proper installation of required materials.
- Coordinate with the senior level representatives, including the client (Government), and the Superintendent to facilitate the overall project requirements and schedule management utilizing Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 Scheduling.
- Responsible for management of the following: buy-out process to include and understand scope reviews, contract terms with subcontractors and vendors, preparation of subcontracts, purchase orders, and procurement of all executed agreements; Job Hazard Analysis from Subcontractors, and other required contract documents; financial and contractual aspects of the projects assigned to ensure all commitments are made to the client and financial expectations of the project are achieved; and distribution of estimating documents to ensure accurate sub and vendor pricing.
- Plan and monitor for possible conflicts on a job, and work with the project team to produce solutions in the event of any issues.
- Lead regularly scheduled project meetings with the client and design team to report progress of the project and communicate key issues of the project.
- Perform estimating responsibilities including bid solicitation, proposal writing, trade scoping, quantity takeoff, etc.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or its equivalent.
- Two (2) years of construction management, general contracting, or similar experience.

Rate of Pay: $80,000
