Job Type: Demolition Superintendent
Reports to: Director of Demolition/Abatement
FLSA Status: Exempt
Bhate is seeking to fill a position for a Demolition Superintendent. The Demolition Superintendent will report to the Director of Demolition/Abatement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Superintendent will be the on-site person who plans, assigns, directs safe work activities for all Contractor and subcontractor personnel, and is qualified to perform as “Competent Person.”
- Responsible and accountable for all work-site activities and outcomes and act as primary Contractor liaison with the COR.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and safety/health inspections, mishap investigations, maintain OSHA logs, and implements the APP and AHAs per USACE EM 385-1-1.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities on each construction site.
- Manage all schedules, resources, and budgets.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols.
- Coordinate the work of all subcontractors.
- Resolve problems and disputes that may arise throughout the project duration.
- Ensure that all construction activities are performed by following local building codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with the project manager and other stakeholders to ensure that project goals are met.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Demolition safety training, CPR, and First Aid certification.
- Must have the ability to write procedures, policies, reports, and correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, as well as procedures and policies.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact and form strong working relationships with individuals from all disciplines.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Detail oriented, and ability to multitask is a must.
- OSHA 30 Hour Training is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management
- Minimum of six (6) years in a supervisory position, and four (4) years of experience in relevant Federal, DoD, and/or Army projects. 10+ years of experience.
- If the Superintendent has no college degree, they shall have a minimum of ten (10) of relevant experience.
