Bhate Environmental Associates, Inc. (www.bhate.com) is seeking to fill a position for a Senior Field Geologist, including environmental investigations, supporting the Eglin Air Force Base. This will cover the Florida panhandle including For Walton, Pensacola, and Panama City.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The candidate will report directly to the program manager and be required to manage staff and subcontractors on environmental projects; to include fieldwork oversight and management, environmental document development and preparation, management of project budgets, and proposal development.
- Evaluate and compile soil, groundwater, and air analytical data, and develop soil and groundwater sampling plans. Recent experience with sampling for PFAS is desired.
- The Senior Field Geologist will support investigations, characterization, and remediation work at contaminated sites
- Compile and present proposals as well as written reports for environmental based findings.
- Manage the Scope-of-Work (SOW) by early identification of change conditions and be instrumental in adhering to the execution plan for the project.
- Perform or oversee on-site field monitoring to document compliance with various federal, state, and local permit requirements during project construction.
- Serve as the primary client contact for all project field activities.
- Travel and field work may be required on various projects in the US and internationally, with travel up to 25% of the time with field mobilizations averaging two weeks.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a Senior Field Geologist, with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing environmental or traditional projects at the field operational level.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a technically related field such as: Architecture, engineering, environmental science, geology, hydrology, chemistry, industrial hygiene or other.
- Professional Registrations/Certifications, if required by discipline, in the State of Florida (i.e. FL PE, FL PG, etc.).
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, codes, and guidance.
