Safety Sally offers vast experience in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S). She is responsible for the management of all Bhate Health and Safety Compliance Programs, and ensures compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and provides EH&S consultative support. Her experience includes working with multiple USACE Districts on environmental, demolition, and construction projects. She has additional safety experience with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); Alabama Department of Environmental Management’s UST Trust Fund, OSHA, state, and county Departments of Public Health, as an Industrial Hygienist/Safety Manager with industrial clients, and as an EH&S consultant.

She reviews and develops site-specific Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Base-wide Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) with addendums for site/project specific health and safety plans (SSHPs). She also conducts field audits to confirm the program effectiveness; and conducts health and safety training and DOT hazardous materials and waste management training. Sally has developed Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to conform to ISO-14001 standards, and completed research on assessment of asbestos contamination during disasters.

As an OSHA Compliance Officer, she has conducted: over 200 general industry inspections; OSHA accident investigations after fatalities and hospitalized workers; and construction safety complaint inspections for OSHA’s compliance and enforcement program.
