Bhate is experienced in the identification, assessment and cleanup of ordnance of all types. Our technicians and supervisors are all former EOD trained personnel and understand the regulatory and physical hazard aspects of locating, handling, inerting and disposition of UXO/OE/MEC components. Bhate imploded the first-ever building on an Army installation (Ft. Myer) in the US in May 2007. More than 95% of the building materials were recycled from the demolition.

Since then, Bhate has become one of the premier demolition contractors in the US. We currently hold four Facility Reduction Program contracts via the USAESC/Huntsville. As part of our demolition services, the abatement of asbestos, lead, PCBs, and mercury ballasts fall within the common scope of our work components. Specific areas of our abatement, demoliton, and recycling expertise include:

  • Comprehensive abatement inspections, surveys and abatement prior to demolition
  • Self-perform demolition of admin and maintenance buildings, barracks and motor pools
  • Utility disconnects, installation of temporary power, UST/AST removal and site restoration
  • Consistently exceeding minimum recycling requirement of 50% of an entire building
